I am able to time travel! So I am learning about a game called hockey. I’ve went back to a little farm just out of Windsor Nova Scotia and there are A bunch of people going past me with these weird things on there feet. They look like shoes with knives on the bottom with no handles and they have sticks in there hands with handles at the bottom and they where shooting around a circular black thing. Well luckily I have a book about hockey! oughthat black thing is called a puck, and the weird looking shoes are called ice skates and the weird stick is called a hockey stick!
Some one just skated up to me! His name is Jordan. He just told me he would teach me about hockey history and how to play real hockey!!
We are going to learn about the history first. (My favorite subject is history) Jordan just told me that no one knows when hockey was invented! Some people think that the first game was played on a family pond just out of Windsor Nova, Scotia but some people think the first game was in the early 1700`s in Canada. So it’s just another mystery untold. Right now I’m going to Jordan’s for hot chocolate. Jordan just told me that the word hockey came from the French word hocquet. Some Native American’s would play something like hockey but they just played with some sticks and frozen horse poop! Jordan says people think games like hockey have been around since early civilization at least 4000 years back they would play it with ball and stick on a field!! Then in 1987- 1988 was they first NHL season with only 5 teams! NHL now is very popular hockey now there 30 NHL teams. I thanked Jordan and I started on my way back to the time travel machine. Boy have I learned a lot about hockey I might actually sign up to play on a club team!!!
